Why we must pray Starmer never follows Johnson’s example with his own publicly dissenting MPs

To wield power does not come naturally to the Labour Party. Clearly this is something we should all be grateful for. Just think of the plummeting tax receipts should the woke take office. The billionaire, tax dodging, multiverse would go and shine in the Cayman, or Channel, islands instead of London.

One only need pause a moment to imagine also the devastating impact on the aspirational drive in the lower orders too if they have full bellies while young. A certain amount of self-loathing is required to grow into a true Conservative. A right thinking Englishman. Is vital to hate yourself a little bit to govern well. We must ensure each generation, rising tall under the blazing English sun, has the ingredients to achieve this vital inner mixture.

To put on a unified front in public is another ingredient of power that the Labour Party does not find in itself by instinct. Their electoral slogan since 2015 has been “Vote for us – We hate ourselves!”. We should be thankful they say that. One can hardly blame them for their visible shortcomings. Most were malnourished while young. An unavoidable reality for the loony left. Their ancestors by and large were not granted lands, titles and wealth by the first truly unifying King of England, William the Conqueror. They do not have the centuries of inbreeding necessary to sharpen the mind keenly enough for power struggles.

To find an opposing example just look into the dank bowels of 10 Downing Street, and study its current occupant. Mr Johnson knows how to gain and keep power. He knows how to wield it too.

“The sheep are impressed by the wolf when the wolf culls his rebel pups in view of the flock” – Piecephenon the Great, Macedonia, 235BC.

Take a moment now and imagine the unconscious impact in the collective public consciousness when Mr Johnson defenestrated his dissenting MPs back in 2019?

“This man looks like a total arsehat and acts like one too. But just look at that? Did you see how he took the axe to Winston Churchill’s grandson? I’m impressed by that!” was the shout from the collected governed.

This is why we must hope Sir Keir Starmer never picks up the cudgel and takes to the political skulls of the forever Corbyn crowd in his ranks. To bust them open and throw them out of Labour? What would that say to the public about his readiness to wield total power?
