The Woke will not like it, which is reason enough. That is sufficient reason to begin a failed TV station. It is reason to empty our supermarkets of food and force the stubborn Continentals to find new markets on the Continent. It’s reason to hope an enemy wins a football game, and it’s more than enough cause to place targeted economic sanctions on the Biden regime.
Mr Biden may believe himself a keeper of the peace but he did not fight in the war that preceded it. How then can he be a part of stopping a return to violence? This does not dissuade him from meddling in the great affairs of state of the British Empire. Even though it obviously should. If we had the time perhaps we could retake the American colonies and re-educate them in the proper way to spell honour? But we have more pressing concerns just now, such as Freedom Day, and its catastrophic, self made aftermath.
Still, a state as omniscient as England (and its colonies) can spare some bandwidth to punish a backward and troublesome ally.
America’s insistence that the Johnson government keeps its promises makes it no special friend of ours. Worse still, they harp on about adhering to legal documents agreed openly between trading partners. They may say they’re great businessmen, those yanks, but they clearly don’t know how to turn a serious profit. To win the great games of international statecraft you have to first use the thin edge of the wedge, and then push the entire wedge through.
This is why Mr Johnson must strike early and fast. He must immediately place targeted economic sanctions on the key figures of the Biden regime. Do it to them now, because if Frosty keeps pissing about in Northern Ireland, sooner or later, Biden is going to do it to us anyway.
Just imagine the look n the Americans faces when they see only Russians and Saudis, Chinese and Australians can use the world beating money laundering facilities provided by London? That’ll learn them. Then perhaps they may not be quite so keen to ensure we don’t break out promises.
