The Woke critics of the government can never be expected to understand how a modern country functions. The expectation that elected members of parliament focus on the dreary day to day grind of their constituencies fails to recognise just how much good the fifth son of an old chum from uni can do. Not to mention the public good gained by the child getting work experience early as one of the country’s governors.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has made a complete example of herself. She is rarely in the United Kingdom these days and the United Kingdom is the better for it.
How else to showcase this mighty, fully sovereign, free trading nation then to have Liz and her Union Flag smalls jet around the world?
In the sorry days of EU membership most other countries on Earth forgot the UK even existed. Many could be forgiven for failing to appreciate that the greatest asset store of wealth in the UK is not in Buckingham Palace, but is in the home ownership of the ordinary over 50’s. How would private health and vulture capitalists know we are here if elected members of parliament do not turn up and wave the flag? If you want to strip a place bare you need to put a face to the project.
Ms Truss also does a great service to the airline industry globally. A sector hammered by the pandemic is being singlehandedly revived by taxpayer funded jollies for our Secretaries of State. We are showing the world what you can do if you set your mind to it and allow the public to foot the bill.
If you doubt my words just pause a moment and ask yourself the following question. What good would Liz Truss do if she were here? She is far better far away gaining the experience the UK’s next Prime Minister needs to succeed.
